Code of Conduct for Colts Cricketers

Spelthorne Sports Cricket Club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all its members.

Spelthorne Sports Cricket Club believes that it is important that members, coaches, administrators and parents/carers or guardians associated with the club should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. They are also reminded of the importance of appropriate conduct, both on and off the field and the need to display the highest levels of sportsmanship.

As a member of Spelthorne Sports Cricket Club you are expected to abide by the following Colts Code of Conduct:

All members must play within the rules and respect officials and their decisions
¤
All members must respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of gender, ability, cultural background or religion
¤
Members should keep to agreed timings for training and matches or inform their coach or team manager if they are going to be late. All players should arrive at the match venue (home or away) at least 30 minutes before the published start time of the match. The organisation of transport to away matches is the responsibility of the players' parents, in liaison with the team manager

Members must wear suitable kit for training and match sessions, in accordance with the club's published kit list. When using a hard ball, all players under the age of 18 must wear a properly maintained helmet whilst batting or standing up to the stumps, while keeping wicket

Members must pay any fees for training or events promptly
¤
Never make offensive comments or gestures to any opponent at any time
¤
While fielding, we want you to encourage bowlers from time to time, however, please avoid repeated clapping and shouting, which can be interpreted as putting unfair pressure on batsmen. Do not resort to excessive appealing
¤
We do not want to stop you celebrating success, but keep displays of triumph at sportsmanlike levels
¤
You are expected to have the utmost respect for the facilities that you are using throughout the season, for both home and away matches
¤
Colts Section members are not allowed to smoke on club premises or whilst representing the club at any venue
¤
Colts Section members are not allowed to consume alcohol or drugs of any kind on the club premises or whilst representing the club
