SPELTHORNE SPORTS CRICKET CLUB

   Update on our progress in our 3rd season of the
   Surrey Cricket League

Our first season (2010) in the league saw us remaining unbeaten throughout the season, and so being crowned as Division 4 Champions. The 2011 season saw finishing 3rd in Division 3. With just the top 2 being promoted, we just missed out on climbing another division. So, we look forward to going one better in 2012.

We start the 2012 league campaign with a home game against Park Hill on Saturday, 5th May. This will be the first of 15 fixtures, with our final game being played on 8th September.

Below are some brief details on the league and its structure:

¤ The league consists of 4 divisions (Premier, then Division 1 to Division 3)
¤ Spelthorne Sports are currently in Division 3
¤ Type of Match: 45 Overs per side (1 new ball per match)
¤ No bowler may bowl more than 10 overs
¤ 20 points are awarded for a win, 5 points for a tie, 0 points for a loss
¤ Bonus (batting and bowling) points can be gained by the losing or tying teams:
          60 runs - 1 point          2 wickets - 1 point
          90 runs - 2 points         4 wickets - 2 points
          120 runs - 3 points       6 wickets - 3 points
          150 runs - 4 points       8 wickets - 4 points
          180 runs - 5 points       10 wickets - 5 points
¤ Matches will be held on Saturdays and start at 1.30p.m. Matches on, and after, 18th August, will start at 1p.m.
